UniBinder 8.2 Newest technology offers versatility and optimal finishing. The UniBinder 8.2 has the capacity of the 2 heater XU-238 which can bind up to 2 documents 1½” wide, or 10 documents ¼ inch wide at the same time. It introduces the first integrated electric crimper. This allows one to stock few spines sizes and squeeze the metal channels closed to create a perfect fit every time. It was designed to work with the UniCover Hard, UniCover Flex and UniCover Spines which are variations of the standard Steelbooks, Steelcrystals, Steelmatts and Steelbacks. All of the UniCovers have a slightly longer side on the spines which gives the crimper a bit more leverage. We have found that the 8.2 does work well with the standard items including the photobooks. ThermoBind continues to stock a good inventory of the standard items white the wide variation of spine widths so that crimping is unnecessary. However, if you are a medium to large office that would consider an XU-238 or XU-338, the 8.2 is well worth the extra money for a perfect bind every time.
